Following on from the success of our 2018 Small Business Conference, we are now delighted to announce that preparations are well underway for our 2019 Business Conference – Thursday 7th March at the Lincoln Drill Hall.

This year’s conference is all about ‘People’ – a key element to all our businesses.

Our host on the day is Richard Askam. He is an Internationally renowned freelance speaker & writer on the topic of engagement and the lost art of conversation. Having created the online ShareaCoke campaign in Europe in 2014 – he now speaks to audiences all over the world about the possibilities that this style of direct engagement with consumers opens up for future generations. His recent events have seen him speak in the UK, Europe & USA for HP, Xerox, Canon and finally at the recent TEDx event in Lincoln, which points to his level of experience as a speaker. He is an experienced event host and has a knack of making the subject matter very enjoyable and as a result gets high votes from audiences, he was voted No 1 speaker at Hewlett-Packard’s Americas conference in Phoenix in 2018 out of 130 other speakers, so he comes highly recommended.

The morning will start at 8am with a light breakfast and an opportunity to network and visit the stands. Seats will be taken at 8.45am and the event will begin.  There will be a break for tea/coffee, the event will come to a close at 1pm.

Our team of expert speakers will cover the following topics;

Glen Foster from XERO – What are the challenges that SME’s have to face.

Richard Hallsworth from Nicholsons Chartered Accountants – Digitalise finance functions

Michael Squirrell and Oliver Tasker – Wilkin Chapman

Standfirst: For the UK’s most talented professionals, the world is often their oyster. So, what can businesses in our rural areas do to make sure their valued employees want to stay and share in their success? Wilkin Chapman Partners and experts in their respective fields, Michael Squirrell and Oliver Tasker look at the options in more detail.

Social Media – Knapton Wright

Alex will go through the concept of good communication within a business, and with external contacts. Relationships are key to any business, so how can you use social media to help strengthen existing relationships as well as developing new ones.

Chris Pickles from F1 Group – A Hyper-effective business for the time poor.

Ever wanted to do tasks quicker with less resource? Would that drive profit into your business or allow you to do something more meaningful with your life when you get home?

Well…you could make your business hyper-efficient by automating workflows, removing administration and using electronic filing.

Looking tirelessly at reports looking for anomalies and trends? why not let the system contact you when there is something for you to look at instead having to go through the chaff.

Still, spend hours travelling each day….with modern tools can now interact with your customers and your business information from any location, at any time on almost any device.

I’m happy for you if you live to work and enjoy burning your hard earned cash, you earned it…. but if you want to become a Hyper-Effective Hyper-Efficient business, we need to talk….

Rachel Linstead from Firecracker

Rachel is going to talk about Health and Wellbeing in the workplace and what impact this can have on a business focusing on the food eaten by employees during the working day and how their choices can impact their mood, productivity & team working!!

Anthony Bryant from  Barclays

How does fraud affect a business and what can be done to protect it? Anthony is on a mission to educate all small businesses to help protect them from being caught up in cyber-crime and fraud, which is on the increase.

Andrew Tomlinson from Nicholsons HR Department

Burying your head in the sand will not help a small business deal with the issue of a poor performing employee, this can be a drain on the business and other employees. Andy will guide you through this complex arena allowing you to address the issue rather than letting it stagnate.

The event is free to attend.

There will also be a range of business stands, where you will be able to discuss any particular business requirements you may have.
